I have been writing in the journal for a week and it's been fine. Today I tried to add a picture to my page from my own pictures and the journal just froze. when I open it I can log in but i cannot type on a new page and it won't display the list.

Hi Alexis Richardson, If you typed the wrong password for more than 3 times means you will get the password hint below the password text field. You can guess the password from the password hint. Suppose if you can't guess your password means please contact us at arvistech.mac@gmail.com. We will guide you to reset the password.
It is easy to reset your password. Just follow the below steps.
1.Open 'Finder' application. 2.Click 'Go' in the top menu bar. 3.Select 'Go to Folder' from the menu. 4.Copy and Paste the below file path, ~/Library/Containers/com.arvistech.reminiscejournal/Data/Library/Preferences/com.arvistech.reminiscejournal.plist 5.Then delete the com.arvistech.reminiscejournal.plist 6.Restart your mac.
Now you can set the new password for the app. Your past journals will not be deleted. :) If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us again.
This problem is with the apple location services. Sometimes you will get this problem. Please go to 'System Preferences' click 'Date & Time' and select 'Time Zone'. Check the 'Set time zone automatically using current location'. You will get the same error here also.

I entered the journal to add a day and all of my previous entries are missing. I recently changed my iCloud account. Would those entries be in the old account and if so, how do I recover them?
Sign into your old iCloud account. Now open the Reminisce - Journal app. You will see your old entries.(check whether iCloud is selected in the preferences of the app). If you got all the entries in the app then change the iCloud to None. Your entries will be copied to Local file system.
Now logout of old iCloud account. Sign into your new iCloud account. Now change the preferences of the app from Local to iCloud.

I tried opening the reminisce journal but a pop up keeps coming up saying that its damaged and to delete it and reinstall it. I tried to delete it, but the only option is to update the app, yet it won't update.
Please go to 'Applications' folder, right click the app and select 'Move to Trash' and Empty the Trash. Now restart the Mac and download the app again from the Mac App Store. Your moments won't be deleted in this process.

If you are using iCloud sync means the data will be saved in the iCloud server. So you can reformat the computer without a backup. If you are not using sync means please email us arvistech.mac@gmail.com. We will tell the details to back up.

Hi, I just got Reminisce Journal and am having a problem with it. I started off syncing to iCloud and then switched to local. When I switched back to iCloud I now have two of every entry that I have made. When I tried to delete one it ended up deleting both of them. Can you help me fix this?
Hi! I've been using Reminisce Journal since January, and I absolutely loved using it until today. Since I had reached the limit number of free journal entrees, it said I had to update the app to save what I wrote down for today, so I clicked ok button to update for $39.99. Then, it said it couldn't update it, and I had to go to Canadian app store to update it, which I did for $6.99. After the update, I opened it, and I could save my journal. After I closed it, I tried opening it again, and since then, it says: “Reminisce - Journal” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “Reminisce - Journal” and download it again from the App Store."
I've written down so many important ideas on my journal that I cannot risk losing them. What can I do to retrieve them, if at all?

Hi, it's really a great and simple app. I just gave it 5 stars on the App Store. Just a recommendation: You should try to add features like a mobile app (including sync) and a menu bar integration and the app would be perfect. (most competitor apps have this features)

Hi, I do like this journal app, but one think that really frustrates me is when I select a word by either dragging the mouse over it or double clicking on it, the word or text does select but then the font editor pops up and steals the text editor's focus so I can't type to replace that text. It takes an extra step to get rid of the font editor. This makes the app harder to use (in my opinion) and I hope there is something you can do to improve the usability. Also, I am very eagerly awaiting the iPhone version of this app. Do you know yet when it might be available?

Hello, I have added pictures to a journal entry and after opening the entry from the List, I am unable to view the pictures. I try to edit and even delete the entry and a message pops up saying, "Some images are not loaded, please wait." They have still not loaded. Is there a solution to this problem?

I've been using both the IOS and the desktop version of this app. I like it a lot, but I've noticed a problem with formatting --- When I try italicizing a text or changing its size/font, that formatting will only show up while I'm editing the entry. When I hit "Done" on the entry, and then click again on the entry from "List", the italics/font/sizing is all undone. Weirdly, bold "sticks" --- that is, when I add bold to my entry, hit "done", and go back to my entry, the bold still shows up. What's going on here? Sounds like a bug to me.
Where are my memories stored if I do not use the icloud option? Something messed up on my computer and I can find the app, but all my previous memories are gone. Is there a way to restore them?
I run Reminisce on Mac 12.10.6 on 2 different computers. Both have been working flawlessly since I bought the app. Today the app crashes, repeatedly, on both computers as soon as I open it. The app reaches a a blank list with today's date before closing itself. The IOS version still runs fine, but I'd like to have the mac app back!
I have more than 40 entries so far, but right now I am unable to save a new entry that is made. It makes the new entry but upon restarting the app, the new entry is not saved anymore. Deleting an old entry didn't help either so the problem shouldn't be hitting any maximum limit. Can you please help?
I purchased the Pro version for my Mac and iPhone. Working great on my iPhone, but the Mac version isn't recognizing that I've upgraded. I've hit the "restore" button and nothing happens. It will not save new entries, but it is syncing the entries from my phone. Very frustrating!

I had and paid for the app on my MacBook but when I uninstalled and installed it again all the data that I made for about 2 months deleted, is there any way of retrieving it?
I bought this app thinking that it was a way of separating diary records based on personal or business matters. I need to keep these separate for legal reasons and don't want my personal details recorded with my more open business dealings. For example, for tax purposes and professional registration as a teacher, I need to keep a diary of professional development activities. It would be impossible for me to reconcile the PD stuff if it is all jumbled up in my "went hiking in the forest" stuff. There is no user manual and I am unclear on what a "moment" is, and what to do with that obscure bit of information. Thanks

I purchased this app a few years ago and have written many journal posts. I have since switched computers and now, I cannot access my purchased app. Every time, I try to download the app, it downloads the free version that I cannot enter my password into. Help please?
I've really been enjoying using this app but it has a few gremlins (time stamps and location tagging) and I'm disappointed to find that support seems to be non existent. I've tried emailing but no reply. This suggests that nothing will ever be fixed and the app will slowly fall into disrepair. Also, the IOS version has no search function which renders it useless as a journal. Wish I'd spotted that before I bought both versions.
I used Reminisce for a few years now. However, now, when I click to launch the app, it briefly "looks" like it's opening, then abruptly disappears. It never actually launches at all. I've had to reinstall the app every single time I want to journal.

I agree. if you have an iPhone/iPad it still seems to work. I plan on rescuing all my entries from there and importing them (one by one - ARG!) to another app. I'm so disappointed that I invested and it's still being sold, but not being checked for bugs. That's disappointing.

First restart your mac. Then open Reminisce - Journal app. Then click More in the top tab bar. Then click Security and then click Restore button. You won't be charged twice for the same In App Purchase.

ReplyDeleteHello, I have added pictures to a journal entry and after opening the entry from the List, I am unable to view the pictures. I try to edit and even delete the entry and a message pops up saying, "Some images are not loaded, please wait." They have still not loaded. Is there a solution to this problem?

ReplyDeleteI've been using both the IOS and the desktop version of this app. I like it a lot, but I've noticed a problem with formatting --- When I try italicizing a text or changing its size/font, that formatting will only show up while I'm editing the entry. When I hit "Done" on the entry, and then click again on the entry from "List", the italics/font/sizing is all undone. Weirdly, bold "sticks" --- that is, when I add bold to my entry, hit "done", and go back to my entry, the bold still shows up. What's going on here? Sounds like a bug to me.
I hope there are plans to allow more than one journal in the near future.

ReplyDeleteI run Reminisce on Mac 12.10.6 on 2 different computers. Both have been working flawlessly since I bought the app. Today the app crashes, repeatedly, on both computers as soon as I open it. The app reaches a a blank list with today's date before closing itself. The IOS version still runs fine, but I'd like to have the mac app back!

ReplyDeleteI have more than 40 entries so far, but right now I am unable to save a new entry that is made. It makes the new entry but upon restarting the app, the new entry is not saved anymore. Deleting an old entry didn't help either so the problem shouldn't be hitting any maximum limit.

ReplyDeleteI purchased the Pro version for my Mac and iPhone. Working great on my iPhone, but the Mac version isn't recognizing that I've upgraded. I've hit the "restore" button and nothing happens. It will not save new entries, but it is syncing the entries from my phone. Very frustrating!

ReplyDeleteIt is easy to reset your password. Just follow the below steps.
Delete1.Open Finder application.
2.Click Go in the top menu bar.
3.Select Go to Folder from the menu.
4.Copy and Paste the below file path,
~/Library/Containers/com.arvistech.reminiscejournal/Data/Library/Preferences/com.arvistech.reminiscejournal.plist
5.Then delete the file com.arvistech.reminiscejournal.plist
6.Restart your mac.
Now you can set the new password for the app. Your past journals will not be deleted. :)

DeleteI bought this app thinking that it was a way of separating diary records based on personal or business matters. I need to keep these separate for legal reasons and don't want my personal details recorded with my more open business dealings. For example, for tax purposes and professional registration as a teacher, I need to keep a diary of professional development activities. It would be impossible for me to reconcile the PD stuff if it is all jumbled up in my "went hiking in the forest" stuff. There is no user manual and I am unclear on what a "moment" is, and what to do with that obscure bit of information.

ReplyDeleteI've really been enjoying using this app but it has a few gremlins (time stamps and location tagging) and I'm disappointed to find that support seems to be non existent. I've tried emailing but no reply. This suggests that nothing will ever be fixed and the app will slowly fall into disrepair. Also, the IOS version has no search function which renders it useless as a journal. Wish I'd spotted that before I bought both versions.

ReplyDeleteHi, I have been using Reminisce and now when I open it a crash happens immediately on the Mac. If I delete it and reinstall it it opens. But then once it syncs with iCloud it then crashes on the next opening. Can you please help?
ReplyDeleteI agree. if you have an iPhone/iPad it still seems to work. I plan on rescuing all my entries from there and importing them (one by one - ARG!) to another app. I'm so disappointed that I invested and it's still being sold, but not being checked for bugs. That's disappointing.
